Our little 8-month old is on the brink of crawling! He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, inches forward and backward with his knees and hands, but has not "technically" crawled yet. We think it will be any day now. He sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night now and we hear him talking and babbling. When we go in to check on him, he's up on all fours rocking back and forth and just happily babbling away. He eventually goes back to sleep on his own--it's just like he's too excited to wait until morning to practice his crawling skills :-)
Speaking of babbling, Henry has become even more of a talker. He is very vocal and likes to say "mama". I'd like to think he knows what he is talking about (since I've been trying to teach him "mama" for a few months now), but don't think he quite understands yet. It still warms my heart :-)
Henry has gotten 2 more teeth in the past month, so now has 3 total. We've started giving him a little bit of baby yogurt, which he loves. We have yet to try any meats or egg yolk, but will soon. Jarred meat just sounds so gross but I know I need to give it to him eventually!
This picture is a little blurry, but here is up on all fours:
Our little boy the day he turned 8 months:
Even though he's not crawling yet, he still manages to get where he wants to go by scooting around on his tummy:
In his highchair. Note Max's new favorite spot in the house. He has learned that Henry often drops the puffs and pieces of Baby Mum-mums that we give him, so he's always close by to catch them :-)
We were invited to the Denton County Lincoln-Reagan dinner, so Henry's babysitter (our labor and delivery nurse!) came over to watch him for an evening. It was fun for mom and dad to get dressed up and go out--it's been a while!
