Happy Halloween from our little Monkey! Henry participated in the halloween parade at my office organized by the daycare. He enjoyed taking in all of the excitement...until he conked out in my arms. Instead of trick-or-treating, we took Henry to see our neighbors on Halloween and brought them Pumpkin Cream Cheese muffins that I had baked. Overall, I think Henry had a GREAT first halloween! :-)

Another month has already gone by and our little boy is already FOUR months old! In the past month, Henry started sleeping through the night (YES!!!), really found his voice and started "talking" all the time, and even rolled over for the first time. He has gotten SO much better with tummy time, and actually likes it now. He props himself up on his arms to look around at everything, and is even starting to try to scoot himself around on the floor. He doesn't get very far yet, but he sure tries!
At Henry's 4 month appointment, he weighed 12 lbs 10 oz (20th percentile) and measured 26 inches long (90th percentile). Unfortunately, we also discovered that he had a double ear infection-his first-on the day of his appointment. He had been a little fussy that day, so that explained it. I'm hoping that he does not take after me--I had a lot of ear infections as a child.

You wouldn't know it from looking at most pictures of Henry, but he is a VERY smiley baby. Once I get the camera out, he is usually so focused on studying it that he stops smiling. Papa did catch this one, even though it's a little blurry!
I don't know what happened, but he went from happy to sad very quickly! I can't help posting this because I think he looks so cute even if he is unhappy

Henry LOVES bathtime!!
Henry visited his first pumpkin patch today! I think he was a little bewildered by us wanting to take his picture in so many strange places, but he did enjoy people-watching and taking in all of the activity. This isn't his halloween costume, but doesn't he look cute?? Our little bear got quite a bit of attention at the patch in his adorable outfit. Here are a few pictures:
It was a little challenging to prop Henry up against the pumpkins, especially since the pumpkins AND the ground were wet! The changing pad from my diaper bag helped.

It's hard to believe our little boy is already 3 months old! I went back to work this past month, and Henry started daycare. JCPenney has a corporate daycare on-site, which has been great. I am able to go and visit him whenever I want, and it's such a fun little break in my work day! I go and play with him and even feed him a bottle sometimes. He is adjusting very well and really seems to like being around the other babies and all of the activity (despite catching croup his very first week!). His teachers keep telling me what a good baby he is--which of course we already knew :-) Henry has become so much fun in the past few weeks. His favorite pasttimes include: giving everyone big smiles, giggling, attempting to put his whole fist in his mouth (quite humorous to watch), bath time, playing on his activity mat, "talking" to us, people-watching, trying to stand on his own when we hold him up (he's really strong!) and sleeping for a 7 hour stretch at night (sounds great...except he goes to bed at 7:00).

When Henry was 2.5 months old, I put him in this outfit which I had intended to be his "going home" outfit from the hospital. It finally fits him! I think it's funny how off I was :-)

Grandma and Grandpa Carlson came to visit and take care of Henry for a week before he started daycare.
I ordered Henry a high chair, and couldn't resist putting him in it, even though he won't start eating solid foods for a couple of months at least. He looked so tiny in it!
We finally had some cool weather, and lit our first fire of the season in our fire place. Henry was so mesmerized by the light.

Henry gained quite a bit of weight when we brought him in for his 2 month checkup. He now weighs 10 lbs 2 oz--up from 6 lbs 10 oz at his one month check-up! He was in the 10th percentile for weight (up from less than 5%) and the 25th percentile for length. He was a brave little baby for his shots and only cried for a couple of minutes. I think it was probably harder on Mom and Dad than it was on him. He also has been having a bit of reflux, so the doctor gave him a prescription for Prevacid. Other than that, he is doing GREAT and the doctor is happy with this progress.

Well, we couldn't pass up free tickets to the Rangers game...especially when they were playing the Minnesota Twins!! Henry was such a good baby and really loved taking in all of the sights and sounds at the stadium. We cheered for the Twins until it became embarrassing to do so, but had a great time!
